A large chunk of buildings in Inwood — 13 to be precise — are being offered up in a single sale, DNAinfo reports. The listing became evident after real estate firm Eastern Consolidated put out a press release this week announcing itself as the exclusive sales agent on the multi-building portfolio, which is asking $62 million.
The company wouldn’t provide the exact addresses of the buildings, but the release says the buildings are all five-story walk-ups, and are located on Sherman Avenue, Vermilyea Avenue, Post Avenue, and Academy Street. All together the buildings have 359 apartments, two retail stores, and a surface parking lot.
It’s not exactly clear what will happen to the existing tenants of the buildings if such a sale goes through, but the listing touts the recent improvements to the existing buildings, and the site’s proximity to Fort Tryon Park, and the 1 and A subway lines.
Parts of Inwood are also being considered for major rezoning efforts as part of Mayor Bill de Blasio's push to bring more affordable housing to the city. That proposed rezoning is yet to go through a public review process.
