Let there be much rejoicing, for the Barefoot Contessa has finally found a home. After months of searching for an Upper East Side pied-à-terre, the Observer reports Ina Garten and husband Jeffrey have settled on a $4.65 million, two-bedroom, three-bathroom co-op at 563 Park Avenue, that is, according to its Street Easy listing, "perfect for an enthusiastic cook." It’s kismet.
In addition to the newly renovated kitchen, the "gracious pre-war home with a tranquil feel" boasts an enormous, breezy living room, an "ultra-chic, almost-square corner library," and three different fireplaces. (For more contemporary temperature control, the apartment also comes with individual thermostats in each room.)
The listing also points out that the new digs are "near some of the best casual and formal restaurants on the Upper East Side," which may not be necessary for the White House analyst-turned-domestic goddess, but then, even culinary legends deserve a break.
