Among the several projects racing towards the finish line in the Hudson Yards Special District is a relatively large rental building on West 38th Street. Developed by Imperial Companies, the 30-story structure has now topped out, YIMBY reports. It might not be one of the surrounding megaproject's high-profile buildings developed by the likes of Related Companies, but the rental will nonetheless bring 225 apartments to the neighborhood spread out over 243,689 square feet.
Plans for the BKSK Architects-designed building, located at 509 West 38th Street, call for close to 14,000 square feet of retail on parts of the ground and first floors, and community spaces spread out between the first through fifth floors. Of the project’s 225 apartments, 46 will be affordable, and construction is expected to wrap up sometime next year. This project has been at least four years in the making.
