Kim Kardashian and Kanye West seek free housing in Manhattan

The duo have reportedly been eyeing apartments asking upwards of $20 million

Watch out, New York. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly in negotiations with Airbnb to land a luxury Manhattan penthouse for free this fall. As part of a promotional plan that will have Kimye promoting the chosen pad through social media posts, like what Kim’s sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner did in a similar Airbnb partnership for a $50 million villa in Turks and Caicos, the pair would live in the home for a few months while Airbnb picks up the rental tab, reports the New York Post.

While Kim Kardashian is undoubtedly excellent at reaching out to an audience (she has almost 80 million followers on Instagram), a "source" says that luxury properties aren’t all too excited about renting to the couple, withholding beliefs that having Kim and Kanye’s names along with Airbnb’s associated with their properties won’t appeal to high-end buyers. It’s also being said that Airbnb would "only" pay around $150,000 for the duration of the couple’s stay but the prospective properties go for well over $100,000 a month.

So what properties are Kim and Kanye setting their sights on? The speculation is that Kanye’s people have checked out downtown Manhattan penthouses at Soho's 10 Sullivan, and Tribeca's 471 Washington Street and 35 North Moore Street. Kanye already has a one-bedroom on nearby Houston Street that he has "outgrown" and was once trying to get rid of in an off-market deal.
