Part of South Street Seaport's revamped Fulton Market building will open in October

The building’s iPic multiplex is scheduled to welcome moviegoers October 7

Among the spate of new developments transforming South Street Seaport and growing its reputation as a must-visit New York City neighborhood, the revamped Fulton Market Building will be the first to greet customers come October.

The New York Post recently examined the changes at the Seaport, and noted all the new projects coming to the area, and buried in all that development news was the revelation that the iPic Theaters multiplex at the Fulton Market Building will open October 7.

There are some details on the multiplex too. It will contain eight auditoriums and have seating for 500 people. There will also be "plush reclining chairs" and food and drink service at your seat, as per the Post. In June, the developer behind the project, the Howard Hughes Corporation, released new renderings for the building. Apart from iPic, the only other tenant announced so far is The Tuck Room.

The Pier 17 project recently topped out, and is set to open next summer, according to the Post, and construction recently got underway at Fortis’s 60-story condo, 1 Seaport.
