Extell’s enormous addition to the Hudson Yards special district, dubbed 555Ten (because the address is 555 Tenth Avenue, get it?), has been in the works for years, with the building itself rising at a rapid clip.
But it looks like the hulking rental tower is getting closer to becoming a reality: Applications for its 120 affordable apartments entered the NYC housing lottery earlier this year, and just today, Extell launched a teaser site for the development.
With that website launch comes a slew of new details, along with a new rendering of the double-height lobby. The building’s 478 market-rate rentals will be split among one-, two-, and three-bedroom loft-style units, and per a press release, renters will get "the Extell choice of light or dark interior color schemes," with interiors by McGinley Design.
Renters will also have access to a ton of amenities (30,000 square feet of ‘em, to be precise), including a rooftop pool with cabanas; a pet spa and dog park; "recreational facilities, including bowling alley, arcade and children’s play room"; and a bike service station. Those will be open to both the market-rate renters, and those in the affordable units.
Alas, no details on pricing have been released just yet.
The 52-story tower, designed by SLCE Architects, will rise to 650 feet when completed. And it’s moving right along: According to a spokesperson, leasing for the building will begin after Labor Day, and move-ins are expected to happen by the fall.
