Sugar Hill Capital and Haysha Deitsch have closed on the sale of Prospect Park Residence, a senior home on Prospect Park West, for $84M. The building will reportedly undergo a residential conversion.

Notorious Park Slope senior home landlord finally settles with ousted tenants
In June this year, the five women at the senior home reached a settlement with Deitsch to stay at the Residence until August 31 and receive $3.35M to relocate afterwards. The following month, Deitsch defaulted on those payments.

After defaulting on his payments to five holdout tenants, Hayscha Deitsch’s other property assets may be in trouble. The law is pressing for a lien against two of Deitsch’s other properties that would remain in effect until he ponies up the funds promised to the seniors.

Notorious Park Slope landlord defaults on buyouts for holdout seniors
The landlord had agreed to pay the tenants a $3.1 million lump sum, but has so far only managed to cough up $250,000, paid over two installments. A lawyer for Deitsch blamed the developers, Sugar Hill Partners, for not moving forward on the sale.

Notorious Park Slope landlord faces foreclosure on senior home
he owner of the property, Haysha Deitsch, has defaulted on the $33.4 million mortgage he took out on the building in 2006, and now a real estate investor has purchased that debt, and is looking to foreclose on the property.

Prospect Park Residence Seniors Reach $3.35M Settlement
Five elderly women will receive a chunk of the settlement and get to stay at the facility until the end of August. As part of the settlement, each of the women will receive a payment of $533,333.

Landlord Haysha Deitsch announced plans to sell the Prospect Park Residence to a developer in 2013. Since then, a mess of evictions, wrongful death accusations, and lawsuits have swirled around the assisted living facility. Only five tenants remain in the building now.
