Zaha Hadid's curved West Chelsea condo gets its futuristic facade

New, 6 comments

The late architect's High Line-hugging building is looking more and more like its renderings

Construction is moving right along on the late Zaha Hadid’s curvy condo at 520 West 28th Street. It’s only been a few weeks since we last checked in with the project, and in that time, more of its glass and metal facade has been put in place. Field Condition recently snapped some photos of the building, which also offer a new perspective on how it’ll interact with the High Line—the building’s metal facade and the industrial rail tracks that make up the elevated park actually work quite well together.

Construction will wrap in the not-too-distant future, and residents at the ultra-high-end building—with its IMAX theater and a $50 million penthouse—are expected to move in sometime next year.
