Roberta Flack’s mirror-covered Dakota co-op returns, wants $7.5M

The Grammy-winning artist gave her 2,000-square-foot pad a hefty price chop

Legendary R&B singer Roberta Flack has re-listed her apartment in the celeb-filled (and scandal-ridden) Dakota, reports Luxury Listings NYC. Flack first put her two-bedroom digs on the market last June for $9.5 million, but alas, there were no takers. Now it’s back with a pretty large price cut—it’s asking $7.5 million, a full $2 million less than before.

Disappointingly, that listing also didn’t include interior pictures, leaving gawkers to depend only on the brokerbabble, and the power of our imaginations. This time around, though, that’s all changed. There are plenty of pics—and unsurprisingly, the apartment is very nice, if a bit like living inside of a disco ball (all those mirrors!). The airy 2,000-square-foot co-op comes with four wood-burning fireplaces, 12-foot ceilings, spectacular views, a Juliet balcony that spans half the length of the apartment, and close proximity to Yoko Ono, who lives next door.

Though there is no shortage of period detail—mahogany molding, shutter-framed windows—the listing emphasizes that the place is "architect-ready and an amazing opportunity to create your own vision of grand scale Dakota living." For example, does your vision of grand scale Dakota living include entirely mirrored living and dining rooms? That’s something you will have to decide.
