The 16-story building will have 500 rental apartments

Just a couple of months after we checked in with the whimsical looking rental building rising at the Domino sugar refinery site in Williamsburg, the 16-story structure has now topped out. Developer Two Trees Management released a construction photo of the site, which is being built at a cost of $200 million.

Located at 325 Kent Avenue, the building will have a total of 500 apartments, 105 of which will be affordable units. The lottery on those units is expected to go live in January next year.

This building, and the overall project is being designed by SHoP Architects. The redevelopment spans 600,000 square feet and will create 2,800 new apartments in Williamsburg when the project is complete. Construction on 325 Kent is expected to wrap up sometime next year.
