Photographer Field Condition recently stopped by at the construction site of Extell’s One Manhattan Square, and he’s got the first real close up of the Lower East Side project that will bring 815 apartments to the neighborhood.
The 80-story tower is a few floors off the ground and when complete will stand over 800-feet tall and feature apartments that range in size from one to three bedrooms. Extell has hired Adamson Associates to design the condo tower, and has also hired a trio of artists to liven up the construction site fencing with artwork that is inspired by the neighborhood and the site on which the apartment building will be located, according to Field Condition.
The massive tower also comes with a massive set of amenities—100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities. Sales on the condos, which will start at $1.15 million, were scheduled to get underway this month, but there’s no official word yet on the exact date.
With JDS planning a 77-story tower nearby, and two other 50-story towers in the works in the Two Bridges section of the Lower East Side, all the projects combined have raised concerns about the massive amounts of development taking place in the neighborhood without the adequate infrastructural improvements.
Construction on Extell’s tower is now expected to wrap up by the end of 2018.
