First look inside the luxury rentals at SOM's undulating 57th Street tower

New, 9 comments

Rents here range from $3,200-$17,000 per month

Just over a month after leasing got underway, the developers behind SOM’s undulating 57th Street tower have now released interior images of the rental portion of the building. Construction has already wrapped up and the first group of residents are now moving into the building’s 169 apartments, which are spread out over the first 21 floors of the 65-story building. The other section of the tower is being marketed as condos under a separate address.

The rentals at Aalto57, as the building is known, range in size from studios to three bedrooms, and prices start from $3,200 per month and go up to $17,000 per month. Some of the standout features in these units include walnut flooring, 10-foot tall ceilings, and movable kitchen workstations. Apartments on the ninth floor here all come with private terraces, and some of the other rentals have balconies as well.

Amenities offered to the residents living in the rentals, which were developed in collaboration between Rose Associates and World Wide Group, include a landscaped terrace, a DIY bike tune-up station, and a basketball court and multi-sport wall, among several others.

Developers haven’t yet confirmed how many units have been leased since the rentals launched mid-July. Sales on the condo portion of the SOM tower, which is being marketed as 252 East 57th Street, are also underway, and several apartments are in contract, according to StreetEasy.
