The 19th-century home of actress Lake Bell and tattoo artist Scott Campbell has just gotten another price cut. The Clinton Hill townhouse is now seeking $2.3 million, after a November price chop that brought the home’s ask down to $2.55 million from its initial ask of $3 million.
The In a World... actress and her husband purchased the home in 2013 for a mere $1.5 million. Three years later, Bell and Campbell’s 1850s home at 119 Vanderbilt Avenue made its return to the market, asking almost double what they paid for it. But after two failed attempts to intrigue a buyer, the duo are hoping that another price chop and a new set of listing photos will do the trick.
The home sits within the Wallabout Historic District and happens to be one of New York City’s oldest homes currently up for sale. It was constructed in the Gothic Revival style but has received a modern facelift that welcomed a chef’s kitchen and custom closets. There are six bedrooms and four bathrooms throughout its five floor composition along with plenty of original details like exposed brick, tin ceilings, skylights, and wood-burning fireplaces. There is also a finished basement and lovely backyard with a built-in barbecue grill.
