Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.
Looking for a space that invokes emotions? On the Upper West Side, a colorful one-bedroom manages to bring about a sense of calm and serenity in one room, like the living room, for instance, but can just as easily spark excitement in the hallways where there are bold red walls, arched entryways, and French doors. But beyond all of that, the apartment is actually pretty spacious and even better, it’s asking just $879,000, which isn’t exactly cheap but still beats a seven figure price tag.

The listing description doesn’t give an exact square footage but it doesn’t take one to see that there’s quite a good bit of space within this co-op. The beamed ceilings soar up to ten feet high and the immense amount of sunlight that comes in, courtesy of the western exposures, helps the apartment feel even airier. The living room features a large fireplace and “alcove bar” along with a built-in space that can accommodate a small desk. The kitchen is a bit narrow but a renovation introduced new appliances and a small eat-in cranny. Though the bathroom isn’t pictured (which could presumably mean it needs some work), the floorplan points to a full-sized tub and washer/dryer unit.
The building offers some nice perks that include 24-hour doorman service, a children’s playroom, rooftop terrace, and a private English garden. Monthly maintenance will cost a pretty penny at $1,518/month.
