Work on Manhattan’s second-largest residential building has made significant progress in the last few months, construction site photos by NYConstructionPhoto have revealed. New York Yimby last chronicled TF Cornerstone’s massive development on West 57th Street in September last year, and at that time construction had reached the sixth floor. Just over four months later, the structure is now a couple of dozen stories above ground, and will eventually stand 42-stories tall when complete.

Located at 606 West 57th Street (also going by the address of 610 West 57th Street), the project spans 1.2 million square feet with the residential part of the development covering just under one million square feet. When complete, this building will have 1,028 apartments, which puts it right behind the Moinian Group’s ginormous 42nd Street development, Sky, which has 1,175 apartments.
The apartments at TF Cornerstone’s building will measure 950 square feet on average and so far we know that SLCE Architects are the architect of record, and Arquitectonica is listed as the design architect. The project was initially supposed to wrap up by 2017, and seeing as it’s just January that may still be possible, but let’s see how far construction progresses in the coming months.
TF Cornerstone’s project is located right next to Bjarke Ingels’ tetrehedron Via 57 West, and another massive rental, Riverside Center.
