Nearly a year after it went off the market, Richard Gere’s onetime Noho apartment is back on the market as a $20,000/month rental, the Observer reports. That’s the same price it was asking last year before a tenant scooped it up in March 2016.
The five-bedroom apartment spans 3,570 square feet and is located in the celebrity-centric Silk Building, which has also been home to Britney Spears and Russell Simmons. Richard Gere hasn’t lived in the pad for quite some time now though. He purchased the apartment nearly 20 years ago in 1998, and then sold it for $2.6 million in 2011.
The present owners have rented the apartment a few times since 2014, according to the Observer, and they had gut-renovated the place before they started renting it out. Some of the nicest features of this condo include the over 10-foot tall beamed ceilings, Calcutta Gold Marble countertops in the kitchen, and an oversized concave soaking tub in the master bathroom.
According to the Observer, Gere’s most recent NYC real estate purchase was a $2.25 million condo in Gramercy Park in early 2016.
