Welcome back to The Six-Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

There’s no shortage of nice Upper East Side apartments, but a recent renovation has given this one-bedroom co-op modern features, while retaining some lovely details—beamed ceilings, decorative molding, and the like—that give it that classic Upper East Side feel.

The renovation was carried out by interior designer Ashley Whittaker, whose client was “a single girl in her 30s with a great sense of style,” per a House Beautiful spread on the apartment. Refurbishing the 800-square-foot apartment included gutting the outdated kitchen, bringing in bright white cabinetry and Carrera marble counters; transforming the bathroom into a serene, if small, marble-covered space; and adding pops of color throughout in the form of wallpaper.

The wallpaper and other furnishings aren’t part of the package, but it certainly provides inspiration on what a new owner could do. As for the specifics, the apartment has one bedroom with a walk-in closet, an entry foyer leading to the common area, and enough space to make the kitchen an eat-in one. Maintenance is $1,968/month.
