After three years on the market, the SOM-designed skyscraper at 252 East 57th Street has finally unveiled the building’s priciest property: a 65th-floor penthouse, which just hit the market with a $37.5 million price tag. And while that is an extraordinarily expensive apartment, consider that its Billionaires’ Row brethren have asked far more for their marquee units—for example, a smaller One57 apartment is on the market for $70 million.
This particular apartment is quite a doozy: it takes up the entire 65th floor, spanning 8,139 square feet, with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Like the rest of the building, it has floor-to-ceiling windows that follow the skyscraper’s distinctive curves; but unlike many of those other apartments, this one has panoramic views of Manhattan and beyond. There are also two balconies, on the unit’s north and south sides.
In addition to all of that, there’s a double-height living room with a fireplace; a kitchen designed by Daniel Romualdez; en-suite bathrooms for every bedroom; and an entire master wing with two bathrooms and two dressing rooms.
The building itself has its own spate of fancy perks, including a swimming pool and fitness center, a common terrace, a screening room, “guest suites,” and the now seemingly de rigueur porte cochere. Stribling has the listing.
