Tompkins Square Park in the East Village was once again taken over by hundreds of costumed canines for the annual Halloween Dog Parade. The weather couldn’t have been better for the Saturday event, with temperatures reaching the mid 70s and a plethora of sunshine, and showcased the best in creativity that pet owners could concoct for this year’s event.
Adorable pooches dressed up in everything from New York-themed get ups like the Statue of Liberty and the iconic yellow taxi to costumes like Oscar the Grouch were on display, attracting more human spectators than the park could handle. Of course, there were costume classics that include pups dressed in hotdog costumes, politicians in pooch form, and the dog in a kissing booth that is present at virtually every Halloween dog parade.
As always, revelers took to Instagram to capture the festivities. Scroll below for some of the best costumes spotted at the event.
