One of Downtown Brooklyn’s newest rental buildings, The Lane, located on the corner of Red Hook Lane and Boerum Place, has welcomed its first wave of residents. The 21-story luxury tower, designed by Ennead Architects, wrapped up construction back in August on all but the building’s retail space on the ground floor and though move-ins were initially scheduled for September 15, residents didn’t actually start settling into their new homes until yesterday. Curbed has gotten some new photos that gives a first look inside the 108-unit project.

The brick-and-glass covered building embraces a simple layout for its open-concept apartment with features details like floor-to-ceiling soundproof windows, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and open kitchens with sleek cabinets as well as stainless steel appliances. Natural light is anything but sparse thanks to the abundance of windows and various exposures. Each apartment is equipped with custom solar shades as well as washer/dryer machines.

On the third floor is the building’s amenity space, where you’ll find everything from a children’s playroom curated by Carmelo the Science Fellow to a fitness center with FitLink custom exercise programs. Other perks include a club room, a furnished rooftop terrace with lounges, grills, and a shuffleboard; and stunning views of Manhattan’s skyline.

There are currently seven apartments listed on StreetEasy, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms and priced anywhere between $2,492 and $7,225/month.
