Brooklyn condos for under $1 million

The Corcoran Group

The sleepy South Brooklyn neighborhood of Sheepshead Bay has become the unlikely home to a crop of new developments. The biggest of these, the glassy tower known as 1 Brooklyn Bay, launched this summer with prices starting at $525,000. And as of this week, the Onyx Square condominium has launched, with Corcoran handling sales.

Apartments, according to Corcoran, were planned with a "sophistication in design features, an emphasis on common spaces, and optimized space planning." Finishes include oak flooring, Calacatta Caeserstone countertops, custom-built cabinetry and millwork, stainless steel Bosch appliances in the kitchen, and heated floors in the bathroom.

But the building's claim to fame, as it were, is that it's home to more amenities than any other new development in the area. The list includes a doorman, fitness center, yoga and meditation studio, lounge and entertainment room, children’s playroom, outdoor landscaped courtyard, and a terrace with furniture and grills.

Over at Onyx Square, 12 of the 65 total apartments are currently up for grabs, with pricing beginning at $342,500 for a 436-square-foot studio, and going up to $988,000 for a 1,333-square-foot three bedroom.

The development is located right off of Kings Highway, and it’s just a four-block walk to the B and Q trains.
