An opulent Chelsea townhouse that was asking $37 million earlier this year, has now slashed its ask by over $7 million, and is asking $29.5 million. Measuring 11,000 square feet, the townhouse features five bedrooms, and 11 bathrooms, and is part of the West Chelsea Arts District.

There are luxurious finishes galore in this house like fittings that include Swarovski crystals, and leather-accent walls. On the cellar level, there’s a swimming pool, a gym, and a steam/sauna cabinet. On the floor above that, there’s a home theater with stadium seating, and on the mezzanine level there’s a 400-bottle, temperature controlled wine cellar.

Aside from the interior space, there’s an additional 2,000 square feet of outdoor space, including two rear terraces on the second and fifth floors, and a massive rooftop terrace with a hot tub.

The owners of the property previously tried to sweeten the deal by adding a Bentley into the sale, and the broker on the property now says, “the Bentley is a part of the lifestyle of the buyer, so any luxury car of choice can be a part of the negotiation.” Interiors at the house were done up by Escobar Design by Lemay and Interior Marketing Group. Do you think this price cut will help the townhouse sell?
