The condo will replace a large single-story structure, and bring 45 new apartments to the neighborhood

A 13-story condo building is set to rise at the corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue, YIMBY reports. The condo will replace a large, single-story structure that currently sits at this corner site, across from an Urban Outfitters, and right next to the subway entrance for the F, M, and L lines.

ODA Architecture is listed as the applicant of record, according to plans filed with the city’s Department of Buildings. Demolition plans for the existing structure were filed in October, so work on that will likely kick off soon.

The project will bring a total of 45 new apartments to this area, which sits at the border of Greenwich Village and Chelsea. Of the total units, 21 will be duplexes, according to YIMBY. Apartments here will average just a little over 1,200 square feet.

Plans also call for two retail spaces on the ground floor. Amenities for the building announced so far include a residents lounge, a fitness center, a rooftop terrace, bicycle storage, and a laundry room.
