Iron Chef Marc Forgione buys a $2M West Chelsea condo

The two-bedroom condo comes with one serious terrace

Marc Forgione, the punky Iron Chef behind steakhouse chain American Cut, has picked up a 1,100-square-foot West Chelsea apartment. The sale recently hit public record, showing that Forgione and wife Kristen Angelilli laid out $2 million for a two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in an inconspicuous Tenth Avenue building. The apartment was first listed for $2.4 million in March 2016.

The apartment’s kitchen doesn’t rival that of fellow Food Network star and former Chelsea dweller Bobby Flay, but it has an expansive and elegantly outfitted terrace that backs up to the High Line and is accessible from the two bedrooms. It also comes with a wood-burning fireplace, a vented washer and dryer, and a Carrera marble-decked bathroom.

The apartment is one of just two in the building and is less flashy than some of Forgione’s fellow chefs and restaurateurs. Keith McNally of Balthazar fame has been in search of a buyer or renter for his lovely West Village townhouse since 2012, and Bobby Flay finally found a renter willing to shell out $22,500 for his Chelsea Mercantile pad in October 2016, one year after listing it.
