Hate on Jersey City all you want, but the city’s Newport area is coming up in all sorts of ways. Like Williamsburg in the early aughts, the Hudson River-fronting neighborhood is becoming a hotbed for new glassy high-rises with views of Manhattan. Next up in the procession of new developments is LeFrak’s Ellipse, a 41-story rental building designed by prolific Miami-based firm Arquitectonica that’s just unveiled pricing as well as its teaser site.
The 381-apartment building has been under construction since December 2015, and is expected to be ready for move-ins by the summertime. Leasing on the project will kick off on April, with the building’s studios starting at $2,600, one-bedrooms at $3,200, two-bedrooms at $4,300, and three-bedrooms at $5,300. The building will also have four-bedrooms and a variety of penthouse-style apartments, but pricing for those has yet to be revealed.
Ellipse’s branding is taking on a decidedly luxurious air, and offering amenities that follow suit: an outdoor pool and barbecue, parking garage, co-working space, gym, children’s playroom, game room, and 24-hour doorman will be made available to residents. The apartments themselves aren’t too shabby either: they’ll come with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, en suite washers and dryers, and personal climate control systems.
