Robert A.M. Stern’s Tribeca condo, 70 Vestry, got off to a strong start in 2017 when its $50 million penthouse found a buyer. That milestone must have made developer Related feel confident about its chances with 70 Vestry’s other, pricier penthouse: That unit, a 7,800-square-foot duplex on the building’s south side, just hit the market, and as anticipated, it’s got a hefty $65 million price tag.
“A penthouse of this caliber has never before been offered in Tribeca, and may never be again,” Related executive vice president Benjamin Joseph said in a statement.
Given the building’s pedigree—with Stern on the exteriors, and Daniel Romualdez on the interiors—the penthouse is appropriately grand and fancy, with five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, multiple outdoor spaces, and a seemingly endless number of rooms that are only necessary to the wealthiest of the wealthy. (A solarium! An “entertaining kitchen” with a breakfast room! A wet bar! A private gallery!) There are also many walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms, along with a huge living room with a fireplace.
The “crown of the residence,” per a press release, is the 2,000-square-foot roof deck, which takes full advantage of the unit’s south- and west-facing views, and has its own private elevator, because of course it does.
Along with the penthouse news, Related announced that the building is 60 percent sold—no mean feat, considering its apartments start around $7 million and only go up from there—and that it’s now topped out.
When residents (including Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen) move in beginning in 2018, they’ll have access to the full spate of uberexclusive amenities, including a “staffed and gated porte-cochere,” private communal gardens, a fitness center designed by the Wright Fit, a dog spa, a full-sized squash court, and so much more.
