The Shameless actress sold the 800-square-foot co-op for $1.1 million

Sotheby’s

Shameless actress Emmy Rossum has parted ways with her East 57th Street pied-à-terre, no more than four months after the co-op’s gut-renovation was featured as a glamorous spread in interiors tome ELLE Decor. The sale hit public record today, showing that Rossum sold the 800-square-foot apartment for $1.1 million, or $50,000 less than its original asking price (h/t Observer).

Rossum picked up the co-op at 455 East 57th Street in June 2015 for $720,000, and enlisted the help of designer Antonino Buzzetta via a partnership with ELLE Decor to remake the “pied-a-teardown” (her words) into a space that “[evokes] the era in which it was built, in 1928, with architectural details that look as if they might be original, but with a more loftlike floor plan and savvier style."

The goal was achieved and surpassed with refined finishes, including marble, brass, and Caesarstone quartz, and new furniture from vendors like Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and Circa Lighting as well as antique finds including a marble fireplace mantle the actress and her mother purchased in Paris.

The apartment before its renovation can be seen here, and after, below.
