A modest two-story home in Park Slope, owned by Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, is offering up a rental unit on the top floor, Politico has learned. De Blasio and McCray have owned this property since 2004, and the building was formerly the residence of de Blasio’s late mother, Maria Wilhelm.

The property is divided up into two units with the downstairs unit having rented for $2,750 per month back in 2014. A spokesperson for the Mayor declined to reveal the current rent on that unit, according to Politico.

The rental now on the market is asking $1,825 per month, and is a cozy one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit. Though compact, the apartment features a separate living and dining area, and the latter is separated from the kitchen by a pass-thru window. The bedroom here comes with an attached dressing room alcove, and the apartment overall features a good amount of storage.

De Blasio and McCray’s primary residence, also located on 11th Street, was rented out for $4,975 per month back in 2014 when the family moved to Gracie Mansion. A mayoral spokesperson also declined to comment on the current rent of that property, according to Politico.
