A mystery buyer has snatched up a $44.25 million apartment on the 80th floor

432 Park Avenue, PH95

It took more than two years, but a $44.25 million apartment within Rafael Viñoly’s Midtown skyscraper, 432 Park Avenue, is finally in contract. Word of the 5,421-square-foot apartment’s impending sale arrived via a tipster, though the buyer’s identity and amount paid remains under wraps.

The 80th floor apartment features a private elevator landing, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and all the the fancy fixtures and finishes you’d expect when speaking of a multi-million dollar apartment. It goes without saying that the views from that high up are nothing short of amazing.

As expensive as this apartment is, it’s a far cry from being the most expensive sale within 432 Park Avenue. Saudi Arabian retail titan Fawaz Al Hokair purchased the full-floor $95 million penthouse at a discount in September 2016, paying $87.7 million for the pad. (No big deal for a billionaire, but enough to make it the building’s priciest recorded sale.) An anonymous LLC claimed the second priciest sale when it closed on a $65.5 million penthouse on the 85th floor in January 2017. And just today, Luxury Listings NYC reported that Hong Kong-based billionaire Lawrence Ho snapped up an 83rd-floor unit within the building for $65 million.

A few sales have closed at smaller price points: former Citadel hedge funder Patrik Edsparr recently purchased a $32.88 million condo on the building’s 87th floor and two apartments on the 82nd floor sold for a combined total of $62 million.
