Sheepshead Bay’s tallest building, 1 Brooklyn Bay, will launch sales soon

It’ll tower 30 stories over the South Brooklyn neighborhood

Muss Development

Construction has been moving right along on the 30-story glass tower that’ll stick out like a sore thumb over Sheepshead Bay, and now, it’s about to reach the inevitable next phase in the development process. Muss Development announced that the building, now dubbed 1 Brooklyn Bay, is due to launch sales sometime in the next few months.

The tower, which will claim the title of Sheepshead Bay’s tallest residential building once completed, has been in the works since 2014. It’s a collaborative effort between Muss and AvalonBay, with an additional rental component that will bring around 180 apartments to the rental market (details on those, however, are scarce).

Perkins Eastman is the architect of record, and a new rendering of the building shows what it might look like upon completion.

As for the condos, there’ll be 56 of them beginning on the building’s 20th floor—affording each apartment views of the Manhattan skyline and Sheepshead Bay Marina. The units will be a mix of one- to four-bedrooms, and two penthouses will sit on the building’s top level.

And just like the pricey condos seen throughout Manhattan and in Brooklyn neighborhoods like Dumbo or Williamsburg, 1 Brooklyn Bay will come with a plethora of amenities, including a 2,500-square-foot fitness center, resident’s lounge, a dog run, an outdoor swimming pool, and even a bocce court. Pricing for these apartments, however, has yet to be revealed—though previous reports put the low end asking price at around $700,000.

A sales office is expected to open this spring just up the road from the building, and work is due to wrap up next year.
