Everyone’s favorite summer Instagram backdrop is returning. The Coney Art Walls will reopen on May 13 for the 2017 summer season. The artistic offering, a collaboration between Thor Equities and curator Jeffrey Deitch, returns to 3050 Stillwell Avenue for its third summer showing. This year, works by Daze, Mr. Cartoon, John Ahearn and others return and are joined by new works by Lee Quinones, Crash, Alexis Diaz, Jim Drain, Ganzeer, Shantell Martin, Marie Roberts and Chris Stain.
Coney Smorgasburg will not be returning to the site, but don’t fret, food will still be on hand. Patacon Pisao, Chick-N-Cone, Coney Shack, Neapolitan Express and The Hop Shoppe will all post up on site for the summer. The art walls will be accessible from noon to 10 p.m. every day through September.
“We are especially honored this year to have a wall mural by legendary New York artist Lee Quinones, one of the inventors of Wild Style,” Deitch said in a statement. “This year’s new murals bring us further toward the realization of creating New York City’s outdoor museum of street art.”
Check out a few of the returning murals below. To see the new ones, you’ll have to head out to Coney Island.
