Starchitect-designed UWS complex will offer residents an indoor soccer field, gardening studio, and more

With a powerhouse trio of architecture firms on board, it’s no surprise then that GID Development Group’s massive Waterline Square project will also come with an enviable list of amenities. Along with unveiling a full website on Monday, GID has also released details on the amenity package on this Upper West Side mini-megaproject.

The Waterline Club, as this amenity space will be known, will be a three-story space that will be divided among all three buildings that make up Waterline Square. Designed by the Rockwell Group, the Club, is in addition to the 2.6-acre park that the buildings will be centered on, which features sculptural fountains, manicured lawns, and a children’s playground.

Construction is moving forward swiftly at this Far West Side site with all three buildings now several stories above ground. The project won’t be complete for a little over a year still, but the amenities residents can look forward to include an indoor tennis court, a play area for pets, and a 4,600-square-foot indoor playroom for kids.

The swimming pool here will be 25-meters long, come with three lanes, and space for a separate children’s pool, and a hot tub. This area will also feature steam rooms and saunas.

Tennis isn’t the only sport residents can partake in. There are also plans for a 30-foot rock-climbing wall, a golf simulator, a basketball court, an indoor skate-park (yep!!), an indoor soccer field, and a mini bowling alley.

If the outdoor gardens don’t prove to be enough of a distraction there’s also going to be an indoor gardening studio, along with a music recording and art studios as well.

The social hub pictured up top in this story will also be the entry point to a catering kitchen, a game room, a card parlor, and a screening room.

In all, this Richard Meier and Partners Architects, Rafael Viñoly Architects, and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates-designed project will bring 263 condos to the development located on the border of Midtown West and the Upper West Side. An equally starry list of firms are doing the interiors here: Champalimaud, Yabu Pushelberg, and Groves & Co.

Sales are expected to get underway later this spring with condos starting from about $2 million. The condos will start on the 20th floor on each of the buildings, and the lower portions will contain rentals, but details on those are yet to be unveiled. Closings on the condos are expected to get underway sometime in the second half of 2018.
