Hudson Yards’s expansive shopping center and restaurants get new renderings

Following the announcement earlier today that celebrity chef José Andrés will partner with Ferran and Albert Adrià to open a Spanish food hall at Hudson Yards, developers Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group have released several new renderings for the food spaces in the overall megaproject.

The developers announced Tuesday that towards the end of 2018, visitors to Hudson Yards will be able to choose between 25 different restaurants that are set to open at the west side development.

Some of the celebrity chefs opening restaurants at Hudson Yards include Thomas Keller, David Chang, Michael Lomonaco, and Costas Spiliadis. Most of these restaurants will be located at the seven-story retail building at megaproject, known simply as Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards.

That building has made tremendous progress in recent months, and will be anchored by Neiman Marcus when it opens. This one-million-square-foot project has been designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects (Elkus Manfredi is doing the interiors, and KPF has designed the building).

José Andrés’ food hall will anchor the already-opened 10 Hudson Yards.

“I’ve dreamed of opening in New York since I first came here as a boy of 19! And I cannot wait to tell the story of Spain to my adopted home of America in this iconic new neighborhood,” Andrés, said in a statement.

Several other dining options will be spread out throughout the buildings now on the rise at the megaproject. Here’s a handy map of where they’ll all be located:

Himmel, the president of Related’s mixed-used division, Related Urban, said in a statement. “These chefs and restaurateurs represent the most creative and visionary leaders both in this industry and around the world.”

The planned buildings at Hudson Yards are now in various stages of development. Once complete, the megaproject will have over 100 shops and restaurants, more than 4,000 apartments, 14-acres of publicly accessible open space, a 200-room Equinox hotel, offices, and a 750-seat public school.
