What better way to welcome spring than to visit the holy grail of flowering outdoor attractions, The New York Botanical Garden? This year, the garden is upping the ante with a summer-long show devoted to famed glass sculptor Dale Chihuly, whose eponymous exhibition is the artist’s first major New York City garden show in over a decade.
The exhibit, which debuted in April and will be on view through late October, will feature 20 installations that will take attendees through the evolution of Chihuly’s career. The pieces are placed throughout the garden—there’s an interactive guide that shows where each one is installed—so not only will you learn about Chihuly’s work, you’ll also get to see many of the garden’s natural treasures, too. This video tour offers a peek at some of the beautiful pieces on view.
“Chihuly” is just one of many awesome things happening in New York this spring—check out our pocket guide for more than two dozen recommendations, and keep an eye out for a guide to summer, dropping soon.
