So pretty

We love a good South Brooklyn Victorian here at Curbed NY, and this new listing in Midwood is quite a beaut. Located at 756 Argyle Road—which puts it just outside the nearby Fiske Terrace-Midwood Park Historic District—the home is a classic example of that type of home, with a lovely restored facade (including a mahogany-decked porch) and decorative elements like stained glass windows and what’s known as a jerkinhead roof. (Yes, really.)

Inside, the place could potentially use a bit of an update, but the home’s original details have been well-maintained.

There are five bedrooms—three on the second floor, and two on the third floor—2.5 bathrooms, a formal dining room, a large kitchen with an eat-in nook, and what appears to be a ton of storage space.

There’s also plenty of outdoor space: Aside from that glorious front porch, the home has a large backyard, in addition to enough parking for three cars and a decently-sized front yard. It’s like a little bit of suburban living in Brooklyn, if all suburbs were home to beautiful turn-of-the-20th-century Victorian homes. The asking price: $1.75 million.
