Construction on Rafael Viñoly’s forthcoming 700-foot-tall luxury Nomad tower is finally making swift project, three years after speculation around the project first surfaced following the sale of the three-building parcel for what was a record-breaking price at the time. According to a new set of photos spotted on Flickr user NyConstructionPhotos account, the Lendlease and Victor Group development project has already passed several of its neighboring buildings in height.
The building at 281 Fifth Avenue has a long way to go before it achieves its full 55 stories, but from the photos, it seems safe to say that well over a dozen stories are now officially in place. The building is slated to offer 130 condos, though it was once reported that it would offer as many as 141.
Back in May, developers debuted a teaser site for 277 Fifth, as it will be known once complete, revealing a more polished rendering of what we can expect the finished product to look like (hint: a much grayer version of Viñoly’s 432 Park Avenue tower).
The project is anticipating completion in 2018 with residents moving into their new homes in the fall of that same year.
