Bay Ridge’s beloved “Gingerbread House,” is trying to sell for the umpteenth time. Having switched brokers yet again, the house is now back on the market with a $2 million price cut, The Real Deal first reported.
Prior to this latest appearance on the market, the Arts and Crafts-style home was last on the market in September 2016 for $11 million. It has essentially been asking that amount since 2013. Over the years, the amount has dropped by a few hundred thousand dollars here and there, but for the most part it has remained steadfast at the $11 million figure.
This latest pricechop marks the first significant drop since it first came on the market in 2009 for $12 million. The owners have been trying to drum up sales interest in the property, especially over the course of last year, when they released a drone-captured video of the 100-year-old house, showing it in all its glory.
Now on to some facts about the house: it measures 5,746 square feet, has six bedroom, and five bathrooms. The standout features here however are the stained glass panels, the hand-carved stone fireplaces, and wood reliefs. The property overall also spans 20,000 square feet and offers up tons of green space. Will this time prove to be lucky for the “Gingerbread House?”
