Curbed’s Renovation Diary is coming to Ridgewood, Queens

A first-time buyer goes from demolition to dream home

For the past couple of years, Curbed’s Renovation Diary series has taken you down remodeling rabbit holes courtesy of a meticulously reimagined Brooklyn brownstone and an historic fixer-upper in California wine country.

But the next installment will tackle a whole other level of home-buying hell in New York City: This year, we’ll follow the joys and challenges of renovation with a first-time homebuyer on a budget in Ridgewood—prices and all. An anonymous New Yorker will share their tips, horror stories, and the things they’ve learned throughout the process from demolition to dream home.

The whole thing kicks off tomorrow at 10 a.m., but for a preview, check out the video above—and get ready to learn everything you’ve ever wanted to know about renovating a NYC home.
