There hasn’t been much news surrounding Ben Shaoul’s rental-to-condo conversion of the building at 389 East 89th Street, formerly known as Post Toscana, since sales launched in February 2016. To kick things up a notch, the developer has tapped celebrity interior designer Taylor Spellman, from Bravo’s reality series Yours, Mine or Ours, to craft the Loft Collection, a mix of 32 loft-like apartments within the “attainable” Upper East Side building.
The apartments within the exclusive collection will occupy floors three through six within the tower and range in size from 562 square feet to 1,079 square feet. Most of the homes are one-bedrooms. To achieve its intended lofty vibes, the apartments will offer oversized windows and ceilings that sprawl nearly 11 feet in height.
A first look at the Taylor Spellman-designed model residences give a better idea of what the Loft Collection has to offer. While the apartments don’t exude the aesthetic and feel of a true Manhattan loft due its lack of openness, they do make for some pretty nice condos overall.

Pricing for the Loft Collection apartments starts at $825,000 while the building’s remaining one-bedrooms start at $1.35 million. More than 65 percent of the 156 apartments within 389 E. 89 have sold since closings began in February of this year.
