Australian actress Rebel Wilson just picked up a two-bedroom, $2.95 million pad at 443 Greenwich Street, because that is what celebrities do now. (It’s like going to the Oscars, or having a publicist.)
The Pitch Perfect star joins a coterie of fellow celebs in the “paparazzi-proof” Tribeca building, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Meg Ryan, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Harry Styles (maybe) and reportedly Jennifer Lawrence (though word is she’s currently renting out her place). The laundry room is a regular who’s who of Hollywood! (Just kidding, there’s in-unit laundry, obviously).
And according to Maison Global, Wilson—who also owns two homes in Los Angeles— apparently got a pretty sweet deal on the place, which first hit the market in 2016 for $4.5 million, was later reduced to $3.995 million, and finally sold to Wilson for $1 million less than that. Common charges will come to “roughly $1,500 a month.”
There aren’t a ton of details about Wilson’s new pad specifically—it has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a dishwasher— but the building itself is known for its tastefully swanky amenities, including a 71-foot indoor swimming pool, a children’s playroom, a sprawling roof terrace, a fitness center, a hamam, and a temperature-controlled wine cellar, reports Women’s Wear Daily, which first caught wind of sale.
“I just love New York and since I’m filming a movie here this summer I thought I may as well buy a place,” she told WWD at a party celebrating the launch of her new fashion line last week.
And just in time, apparently: as Maison Global points out, only a handful of units in the celeb-approved building remain available for sale: seven of the 52 “loft-style” homes are still up for grabs, and only one of the eight penthouses.
