Though the Rockaways are a popular summer destination, the neighborhood isn’t exactly one of the most populous parts of the city. It’s far from Manhattan and is hindered by its lack of public transportation options (though the new ferry route helps). But if you’re willing to venture out, you can find some nice real estate—like this three-bedroom, two-bedroom condo, asking just $599,000.

The 1,564-square-foot duplex has an open-concept lower level, with four exposures that flood the place with light. A gas fireplace surrounded by an elaborate mantle sits in the center of the living room.
