The 11-story building will bring 94 apartments to the neighborhood

Magnum Real Estate

Nearly a year after sales launched, the Katz’s Delicatessen-adjacent condo building is now about eight stories above ground, Bowery Boogie reports. Eventually this Lower East Side building will stand 11 stories tall and bring 94 apartments to the neighborhood.

The Ben Shaoul-developed condo will also bring an Equinox gym to the neighborhood. The project came about after Shaoul purchased the land for $75 million in 2014. A strip of single-story restaurants were demolished to make way for the condo building, and we first got a peek at the superstructure just a few months ago. Construction has made significant progress since, with just three floors left until the building tops out.

At the time of the sales launch last fall, apartments were asking from just over $1 million. Several condos are in contract, but among the ones available, prices range from $1.075 million for a studio, and go up to $4.8 million for a three-bedroom, three-bathroom unit, according to StreetEasy.

Construction began at the start of 2016, and is set to wrap up sometime next year.
