Duplex penthouse at Cary Tamarkin’s High Line condo returns for $9.2M

The apartment first hit the market in 2013 seeking $11.75 million

Halstead

A West Chelsea penthouse in Cary Tamarkin’s High Line condo is still looking for a buyer after numerous price reductions and brokerage switches. Penthouse H of 456 West 19th Street hit the market again this week, this time with Halstead and asking $9.2 million. The new price tag is a significant reduction from it’s initial asking price of $11.75 million when it first hit the market in 2013. It’s been on the lookout for a buyer ever since.

The three-bedroom penthouse is the property of Code and Theory founder Brandon Ralph, who purchased the apartment for $6.77 million in 2011. The duplex penthouse covers 4,100 interior and exterior square feet, and comes with a double-height living area, three bedrooms, and three and a half bathrooms.

An Observer piece on the apartment when it first hit the market notes that Ralph and his partner, model and interior designer Adriana Biasi, reconfigured the apartment’s master suite to improve the flow of the “box-on-box-on-box effect” of new developments back when they purchased the joint, perhaps contributing to the apartment’s significant price jump.
