This Sunday, the largest celebration of India’s independence outside of the country itself will head to Midtown for the 47th annual India Day Parade.

Tens of thousands of people will converge upon Midtown, beginning at noon, to take part in festivities that celebrate India’s people and culture while enjoying food and vendor booths along the route. Actor Rana Daggubati and actress Tamannaah Bhatia, stars of the popular Indian fiction film, Baahubali, will serve as the parade’s grand marshals.

As with any parade, both pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be a bit more congested as a result. The Department of Transportation has released the list of routes and street closures so you can plan accordingly.
