Closings are now underway on the Flatiron District’s tallest building, the Madison Square Park Tower. The sale of two condos at the 65-story skyscraper has hit public record: a three-bedroom apartment that sold for $6.4 million, and a two-bedroom unit that sold for $7.2 million.

The Continuum Company-developed building features a total of 83 apartments, and a majority of them are already in contract. A handful that are available are priced from $2.75 million and go up to $48 million. That latter listing is the building’s crowning penthouse and it came on the market at the end of June this year. Spanning the 64th and 65th floors of the building, and located at 777 feet above ground, the condo’s price also comes with two additional studio apartments on the lower floors of the building, and two parking spots.

Sales on the building, which is located at 45 East 22nd Street, got underway in October 2014, and are now culminating almost three years later with the closings. The Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed building won’t hold on to tallest building in Flatiron title for much longer as a slender 1,001-foot skyscraper at 262 Fifth Avenue is set to surpass it in the coming years.
