Alexander Skarsgård has picked up a loft in an unassuming East Village building that’s been home to many-a celebrity before. The True Blood and Big Little Lies actor paid $2.3 million for the fourth-floor one-bedroom on East Tenth Street, Mansion Global first reported. The apartment was formerly owned by actress Parker Posey, and the building has also been home to actress Chloe Sevigny, Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, and author of The Help, Kathryn Stockett.

Skarsgård’s penthouse pad is far from the “womb-like” garden apartment once owned by Sevigny. The apartment is set up as a one-bedroom, but can easily be converted into two, per the listing with Compass agents Lois Planco and Amy Mendizabal. Wood-beamed ceilings, a marble mantled wood-burning fireplace, a clawfoot tub, and casement windows add prewar charm to the space while an updated kitchen lends a contemporary feel.

The apartment comes with access to the building’s shared backyard, as well as the rooftop, where a private roof deck can be added. Skarsgård dropped $2.3 million on the co-op.
