This week’s Pricespotter, a one-bedroom Upper West Side co-op with terraces a-plenty, elicited similar comments from readers about its funky layout, but only two commenters came close to the apartment’s asking price: yingei and Donnie Moder, who both guessed $1.3 million, just shy of the apartment’s $1.325 million asking price.
Now back to that funky layout. Commenters agree that the apartment is likely a reconfigured alcove studio, a suspicion floated by Trilby16. They also mostly agreed that the terraces are too narrow. “Clearly one mans ‘terrace’ is another mans ledge!” writes commenter iluvnyc. And a ledge it is indeed at just four feet, five inches wide.
Luckily, though, Central Park is truly just steps away. The apartment is in The Hayden House at 11 West 81st Street, across the street from the American Museum of Natural History, half a block from the city’s green lung.
The apartment last sold in 2012 for $840,000.
