Developer and architect Cary Tamarkin’s seventh lower Manhattan condo launched sales today, with 19 apartments priced from $4.6 million to $13.5 million.
The building at 550 West 29th Street, between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, borrows elements of Tamarkin’s 10 Sullivan, with large casement windows and a stark, organic facade. The “beautifully minimalist” building takes cues from “turn-of-the-century utilitarian and industrial architecture,” a press release reads. That translates to a facade of hand-cast limestone Roman bricks.
The sales launch also comes with the first look inside the building, where apartments are decked out in white oak floors and kitchen cabinetry, a Pietra Cardosa slab countertop and backsplash in the kitchen, Italian Dolomite marble floors and countertops in the master bathrooms, and high-end appliances throughout.
The apartments are large, with three or four bedrooms a piece, and are divided into four single-story apartments, 12 duplexes, and three penthouses (the latter come with gas fireplaces and 20-foot double height living spaces.) More than half of the apartments come with private outdoor spaces, measuring up to 750 square feet.
Building amenities will include an attended lobby, a gym and sauna, a laundry room (in addition to washers and dryers in each apartment), private storage for each apartment, and a bike storage room. Core is handling sales and marketing for the building.
