Legendary basketball figure Phil Jackson has listed his three-bedroom apartment in Midtown’s The Osborne for $4.95 million. The asking price is just a hair over the $4.85 million the former Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers coach paid for the apartment in 2014.

If the 2,600-square-foot apartment looks familiar, it may be because it shares a similar layout to Jessica Chastain’s apartment just one floor up. Like Chastain’s, Jackson’s apartment has undergone a renovation—in this case before Jackson purchased it, by Ferguson and Shamamian Architects. The update brought the prewar apartment limestone surrounds to the two wood-burning fireplaces that bookend the 33-foot living room and an updated kitchen that opens to the dining area.

For all that’s new here, the apartment still retains a ton of its splendid original detailing, like stained glass transoms, mahogany-paneled library, intricate inlaid wood floors, and wood-burning fireplace in the kitchen.

The apartment is on the market with Nancy H. Tela at Stribling. Maintenance runs a steep $4,274/month.
