Roosevelt Island’s most expensive listing— a $2 million condo spanning 1,433 square feet— just set a record for the priciest apartment ever sold within the neighborhood.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home was listed back in May and whereas in the rest of Manhattan no one bats an eye at a $2 million listing, this condo quickly drew attention since it was asking a sum unheard of for the island. While the home didn’t fetch its full asking price, the $1.87 million that it closed for was enough to make it the most expensive condo sale ever to hit Roosevelt Island, reports The Real Deal.
The apartment is a decent space and features floor-to-ceiling windows with stellar views of the East River, a plethora of closet space, marble-clad bathrooms, and views of the Manhattan skyline.
The sale dethroned another unit within the same building, located at 415 Main Street, which once held the title of priciest apartment on Roosevelt Island to sell when it fetched $1.75 million in May 2016.
